The LAV-150 Commando is a 4x4 wheeled armored vehicle developed by Cadillac Gage in the early 1970s as an evolution of the earlier V-100 series.
Designed for versatility, it serves in various roles including reconnaissance, fire support, and internal security.
The variant equipped with the Cockerill Mk III 90mm gun features a two-man turret capable of engaging armored threats and providing direct fire support.
This configuration includes a coaxial 7.62mm machine gun and optional roof-mounted secondary armament.
The vehicle's steel monocoque hull offers protection against small arms fire and shell fragments, while its amphibious capability allows for water operations without prior preparation.
Powered by a V8 diesel engine producing approximately 202 hp, the LAV-150 can reach speeds up to 88 km/h on roads and has a range of around 640 km.
Although not adopted by the U.S. Army, the LAV-150 has been widely exported and remains in service with several countries worldwide.
